bataleon, Whistler/blackcomb, Bern helmets, Reef, CFR sled racks, Rude Boys snowboard shop

  • Career highlights
first desents to being dropped off on the beach to surf in alaska and 2006 Olympics

  • Favourite riding spot
    powder is always good.

  • Your most memorable day on the Snowboard last Season, and why?
Some buddie and i had a few nighttime sessions in the backcountry. Splitboard up and shred down by headlamp. Was pretty damn fun. Learning to no-board was pretty awesome too. You can only no-board in powder so it’s always a good day no-boarding.

  • What/Who influenced you the most in Snowboarding?
Biggest influence would be my friends(jonaven moore, andrew hardingham, scott gaffney, dave basterechea). Terje, Todd richards, travis rice, jeremy jones, muller, kalbermatten. I enjoy lots of people’s riding. Guys that can ride everything are for sure my favorite. Or in jeremy’s case, rip in alaska!

  • Whats on your Ipod?
Lots of stuff. Mosty punk and rock n roll though.

  • Last memorable Party?
    Can’t remember.

  • How do you avoid to hurt yourself?
Try and land my shit! Stretch a bunch and am super active. Being strong helps.

  • How and where do you practice on new tricks?
Man up and try stuff. But that’s getting really scary with doubles. Been learning doubles on Bagjump™.

  • Waterramp, Foampit or BAGJUMP? And why?
Water really hurts with a board on your feet. Foampit, never tried it. But carrying it around and being able to move that would be a bitch. Bagjump™ is like jumping in pow. Nice soft landing. Can be moved around fairly easily. Quick laps, and lots of possibilities with jumps, quarters, pipes etc..

  • New tricks learned on BJ? Any contest-winning tricks?
Learned 2 different double corks. Maybe a third one to come. Definitely could be contest winning tricks.

  • How much more progression is possible, will double flips be standard next season?
I think doubles will be the standard for the top guys for the next few years. I can’t realistically seeing it gt crazier than that. Takes a lot of airtime just to do a double. But who knows, in the future they might have 40 foot pipes and you’ll be riding huge boards and just going massive.
Personally I’d like to see pipes get longer so more tricks could be done instead of just 5 or 6. Get more variety in there and see different styles come through more.

  • What else can we expect in the future of snowboarding, where will the progression go?
Think I just answered that above. Freestyle while freeriding. Love doing and seeing tricks off natural features first try.

  • Any last words?
“Those who think they can and those who think they can’t are both right.“
