Ruka Finland– 3 days of intensive training for the finish national snowboard team:
- Risto Mattila,
- Peetu Piiroinen,
- Markus Malin,
- Miika Hast,
- Janne Korpi,
- Illka-Eemeli Laari,
- Ville Uotila and
- some local riders
used this opportunity to practice most technical tricks in the Quarterpipe.
The Setup was built exclusively for the Bagjump Event which took place from 29th to 31st december 2009 in the small but lovely resort Ruka in North-Finland.
The extreme cold temperatures, fresh snow and strong winds weren´t making it easier for the riders to catch the high speed that was needed to hit the perfectly shaped QP into BJ.
The training was split up into two sessions per day: a morning session from 10 to 12 o´clock and a night session from 16 to 18 o´clock.
The night session was visited by a lot of spectators as this kind of attraction was never seen here before! At the end of day 3 all riders were superstoked about the progression they were able to make in this short time, thanks to Bagjump. The result of this will for sure be seen at the Burton European Open in Laax and the upcoming Olympics in Vancouver! Watch out for the Finish freestyle-machines!!
This trip was surely an unforgetable experience for the BJ-Crew and riders but a hardcore-finish-style new years party made us forget some part of it, wonder why...
Special thanks to Ruka & Mika and Harri from Soulproductions! See you soon.
