- Your most memorable day on the Snowboard last Season, and why?
That was a powder day on my home mountain in march with some friends. I think thats what snowboarding truly is all about.
- What/Who influenced you the most in Snowboarding?
There were a lot of riders who influenced me. Mostly those who stand out in terms of style or progression. For example David Benedek.
- Whats on your Ipod?
Right now there´s all kinds of Indie rock/electro stuff on my Ipod.
- Last memorable Party?
Oktoberfest in Munich, of course.
- How do you avoid to hurt yourself?
I try never to do stuff I don´t feel good about. And if the conditions are way too bad I don’t hesitate to cancel a shoot or a competition.
- How and where do you practice on new tricks?
Most of the time I wait for soft conditions or even better a powder landing. Recently I tried a lot of tricks into the bagjump and I think it is the safest way to do it.
- Waterramp, Foampit or BAGJUMP? And why?
Clearly Bagjump, as you can´t have a realistic take off on a water ramp and a foam pit is just way too hard to get to the spot. Also the foam pit would have to be extremely big to be safe because of the hard outside.
- New tricks learned on BJ? Any contest-winning tricks?
I worked on a few new moves. We´ll see which one will pay off…
- How much more progression is possible, will double flips be standard next season?
I think there´s always room for progression. But it should not only go towards more extreme tricks, but also towards more stylish execution. I´m pretty sure in the future there won´t be any major halfpipe competition win without at least one double cork in the run.
- What else can we expect in the future of snowboarding, where will the progression go?
Snowboarding still is a relatively young sport. Every year the progression has been very big. It´s really hard to keep up with it. I think it will go on like this for 5 to 10 more years. On the other hand some of the new tricks are getting pretty dangerous if something goes wrong. Injuries will surely be a big issue for the pros in the next years.
